One day State Level Statistics Faculty Workshop On “Quantitative Techniques in Research”

          Department of Statistics of Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College and P.G. Studies in English, Vijayapur organised one day State level Statistics Faculty workshop under IQAC on “Quantitative Techniques in Research” in collaboration with BLDEA’s S. B. Arts & KCP Science College Vijayapur on 31st Dec. 2020 from 9-30 a.m. to 5-30 p.m.

Dr. U. S. Pujeri Vice principal, & NAAC Co-ordinator, BLDEA’s S. B. Arts & KCP Science College, Vijayapur, in his inaugural address highlighted the importance of statistics & data analysis in the field of research.

Key note Speaker Dr. U. K. Kulkarni Asso. Prof.   Dept. Of Studies in education and Research, KSAMU, Vijayapur   presented a topic “Quantitative Techniques in Research”  and explained about types of data, scales & tests which will  be used  in  research.

Dr. A. N. Chatarki , Principal and President of the workshop appreciated efforts of the team that organised state level workshop & address the participants about the importance of workshops in teaching carrier and by attending the workshops they can develop their teaching skills and professional relationships.

In I Session Dr. S. B. Madagi, Former Registrar ( evaluation) KSAMU Vijayapur, spoke on “Innovative Teaching Techniques in Statistics “and stressed to clear the basic concepts of statistics to the students and to use more applications relating to real life situations   in teaching.

II Session was interactive Session. In this organising committee members decided to form District level and Sate level Statistics teachers Association. 35 delegates from various places participated in this workshop.  The Workshop ended with formal Valedictory function.

The one day National level work shop on Research methodology and Data Analysis (A multi-disciplinary approach) was organised by department of Statistics on 4th Feb 2017 at 9-30 a.m. to 6-30 p.m. at Allama iqbal hall Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College and P.G. Studies in English.  Vijayapur, Karnataka, India.

The workshop was inaugurated by Sri. Harsha Shetty, Commissioner of City Corporation, Vijayapur and key note Speaker Dr. S.B. Madagi Head,  Dept. of Bio-informatics K.S.W.U., Vijayapur and Dr. Roshan Kazi, HOD, MBA Programme, Allana Institute of Management, Pune, Dr. R.A. Pathan, President and Principal of Anjuman Degree College, Vijayapur. The workshop was attended by 300 participants from various places.

All the participants who attended this workshop were students, research scholars and faculty members of various steams( Arts, Science, Commerce, BBA, BCA, LLB  Medical,  Management and Eng etc.) who were directly involved in research.

The workshop started with a formal inaugural session. The workshop was inaugurated by Sri. Harsha Shetty, City Corporation Commissioner, Vijayapur,  in his inaugural address stressed the need for expertise in the field of Data Analysis for better and efficient governance. He praised the efforts of Anjuman College in this respect. He further highlighted the importance of   Data Analysis at every level of governance. He said, all government plannings and budget preparation depends upon efficient data analysis wok by Dept. of Statistics. As a result such a statistical survey helped municipal authorities for initiating steps to install LED street lights, which not only saved electricity but also reduced financial burden.

 Dr. R.A. Pathan, Principal and President of the workshop appreciated efforts of the team that organised national level workshop. Prof. (Smt) S.M. Hanchinal, Co- ordinator of the workshop welcomed the guests. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Wajeed Peerjade.

            About 295 participants participated in the workshop that concluded on 4th February 2017.

            The technical session of the workshop was by Dr. Roshan Kazi, HOD, MBA Program, Allana Institute of Management, Pune introduced the participants to basic aspects of research, its importance and its characteristics. In his scholarly deliberation he explained the technicalities of Data Analysis.
